Caterer and amateur sleuth Faith Fairchild revisits her wedding to the Reverend Thomas Fairchild—a wedding that turned murderous.
The twentieth book in the beloved series turns back the clock to the time Faith Fairchild was a bride who didn’t try to run away, but was almost run over! It’s 1990, and Faith Sibley is a single young woman with her own catering business in New York City. But a chance meeting with the Reverend Thomas Fairchild is love at first sight, and suddenly Faith is heading north to New England to visit her future in-laws, not all of whom are friendly….
The path to the altar is made even rockier when Faith encounters two other mysteries that need her help solving. First, her new assistant, Francesca, appears to be hiding a family secret with roots in Italy. Then her sister, Hope, becomes the target of someone intent on sabotaging her high-stakes financial career. But above all, Faith needs to figure out who is trying to call off the wedding—by eliminating the bride!

"This was one of the better books in the series. With the exception of the first and last chapters, it is a prequel to the other books in the series. On board a plane for a long awaited anniversary trip to Italy with her husband Tom, Faith reflects on how they met, their whirlwind courtship and wedding. True to form there are a few crimes/mysteries to solve along with assorted unusual characters popping up in Faith's life. Great read!"

" I always enjoy Page's books in the Faith Fairchild series. This one takes us back many years to Faith's wedding. "
— Tracey, 1/27/2014" This was a bit discordant. The plot was a flashback to how Faith and Tom met and the events leading toward their wedding. The additional plots thrown in were Hope's crisis at work, Josie leaving the catering firm and opening her own restaurant, and another employee from Italy trying to resolve a family issue from WWII. On top of all that someone was trying to kill the bride. None of the plot lines was very compelling because none got enough attention. I was really annoyed at all the label dropping and how fabulous New York City is. I've read them all and not sure I will continue. "
— Sharon, 1/24/2014" Great light read. It's been a while since I read this series, and this new one is almost more of a prequel, which is fun. But these books always make me hungry! "
— Sarah, 1/19/2014" Will definitely go back to the beginning of this series. "
— Marge, 1/18/2014" I really like this series, possibly in part due to the occasional location set in coastal Maine. "
— Melissa, 1/18/2014" "The Body in the Boudoir" by Katherine Hall Page was another great Faith Fairchild mystery. I loved the way the author used a prologue and epilogue in this book to separate what was going on in the present from the bulk of the book, which told a story from the past. Great read! "
— Patricia, 1/12/2014" I thoroughly enjoyed this, but if you haven't read the Faith Fairchild series you might not so much. There wasn't a mystery until page 102 and no 'body in the boudoir' until page 120 (out of 238). I didn't care, though, because I liked the rest of the story so much. "
— Jessica, 12/9/2013" Too many subplots, but I really enjoyed the ending and the Author's Note about weddings. "
— Jennifer, 12/7/2013" I enjoyed it, but as it was more of a prequel, it seemed strange to not have the children in the book. But it was interesting to see how Faith and her husband met, the events that led to their marriage, and so forth. "
— Terri, 11/29/2013" always a good read, even though I am envious of the clothes and food. "
— Susan, 11/28/2013" Been a while since I've read a Katherine Hall Page. It was delightful...back to Faith and Tom meeting. Loved the shuttling between Massachusetts and New York. "
— Maureen, 8/16/2013" A perfect book to grab on a summer afternoon whether sitting by the ocean, the pool, or just out in the garden. Add a glass of ice tea--sweet, of course--and enjoy. "
— Judy, 5/23/2013" 20th in the series and it takes the reader back. How Faith met Tom, the wedding, the murder, etc. Good stuff. "
— Kelly, 4/24/2013" Clues a little too obvious, tho it does fill in the chronology some. "
— Kathy, 3/18/2013" I want a mystery book to be about a mystery. This book was more a reflection on the characters wedding for her 20th book deal. So, while well written, not that great a read for me! "
— Lindy, 1/15/2013" I really liked getting to know the beginning of this story. "
— Mary, 12/31/2012" My first by this author. A very enjoyable read with great characters and a satisfying puzzle! "
— Marylee, 12/8/2012" If you are fan of Faith Fairchild, you will love this one. We go back in time to Faith's wedding. It's interesting to see the character's perspective about getting married, moving and becoming a minister's wife. "
— Sarah, 8/6/2012" A retro book that takes us back to beyond the first book. As always, well done. "
