" This book makes me want to try some of the stuff that Brian had to do to survive. "
— Jack, 2/18/2014" I read this book in grade 8 for class. I think I liked it better than the first one. I think both the hatchet and Brian's Winter are great books for 10-13 year olds to read. The books are exciting and will keep a reader's attention "
— Kalen, 2/15/2014" I really enjoyed reading this. The writing is quite poetic, and evokes the feeling of the bush. "
— Shanna_redwind, 2/12/2014" Overall, I thought this was a great and interesting book. Brian,a boy who was stranded out in the wilderness, was very intelligent and thought of many different ways to help him survive. He had many adventures as he was hunting and trying to find food and shelter, which made the book a lot more exciting to me.I enjoyed reading this book because of how it is related to the outdoors, and all the excitements that come along with it. "
— Brandon, 2/11/2014" i haven't read this in a while so i should prabably do that again. "
— Stephen, 2/11/2014" My class just finished Hatchet and were all looking for another adventure by Gary Paulsen. Listened to it on tape (read by John Boy Walton (Richard Thomas) and it was a great sequel. The story line is based on Brian not getting rescued after his 54 days in the Canadian wilderness and having to spend the winter out there. It is engaging, exciting, descriptive, and a good read for those that enjoy Gary Paulsen's style. "
— Winnie, 2/9/2014" I like this book and if you are really out dorsy think would be a could book for you! "
— Isabelle, 1/22/2014" So Far this book is not interesting at all to me but who knows I'm only on the 30th page and gave up on it this was boring. Then I haven't read the first ones "
— Dylan, 1/20/2014" just as good as hatchet. "

— garrett, 12/24/2011" this is the seqel to hathet it is so good!!! "
— Ileana, 12/19/2011" Not as good as Hatchet, but still good adventure, this novel traces further adventures of the protagonist--if he hadn't been saved. I thought it a bit derivative, with little new that hadn't been covered in the earlier novel. "
— Sandra, 6/22/2011" Brain returns to the Canadain Willderness <br/> "

— Louise, 5/12/2011" It would have been perfectly fine if Paulsen had stopped with the first book. "
— Elizabeth, 5/6/2011" Another installment in the “Hatchet” series, but the excitement is gone. Brian’s life is never seriously in danger--only his comfort. It’s sort of a “Thoreau in the Canadian Wilderness” type story, very reflective, and sort of boring. "
— Christy, 4/14/2011" This was an ending to the Brian book series. Though i only gave it 3 stars because I thought it left some un-answered questions "
— Jay, 4/4/2011" When Brian returns from the wild, will he ever be the same? "
— Rivkah, 1/24/2011" not as good as the other ones, but ok "
