" If you read Paulsen's first book THE HATCHET, you shoudn't waste your time on this one. It was very disappointing as it was a lot of the same storyline that is featured in THE HATCHET. Not much new material except WHO WOULD DO THIS AGAIN? The mothers I know would never allow themselves to be talked into allowing their kid to go back into the woods after the first harrowing experience. "

" Brian's Return is a sequel to the Hatchet novels. Brian talks to a therapist and he tells Brian to return, which he does. Brian has never been the same since his first visit to the wild, and now he doesn't seem to fit into his old self. Brian has changed, and now he goes back, rebuilding his wildlife experience. I didn't like this book very much because it was basically, one day he makes a fire and eats fish. Next day, he finds fish and eats it with tea. It's just too repetitive. I would only recommend this book to people who have read the first few novels of Brian's wildlife adventures. "
