Russell H. Conwell (1843–1925) was an American Baptist minister, speaker, philanthropist, lawyer, and writer. He is best known for being the founder and first president of Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also founded two hospital in Philadelphia and was the founder and pastor of Baptist Temple, one of the largest Protestant churches in America during his day and time.
