Ean Wood (1937-2011) was an author, film editor, screenwriter, and producer from the Isle of Man. He pursued a degree in math from Oxford University, but dropped out and enrolled in the London Film School. After working on a number of documentaries, Wood went on to create Landfall Productions, a recording company for audiobooks. He also produced anthologies of jazz, one of his passions. He wrote several music biographies including Born to Swing: The Story of the Big Bands, George Gershwin: His Life and Music, and The Josephine Baker Story.
