"A slightly odd book, I wasn't exactly sure where it was going at first. There appeared to be a mystery running in the background, and the focus of the book was generally thoughts from the main character, some humorous. Suspicions abound about a few of the characters, but just when you begin to get a feel for what is going on, the book takes a full 180 degree turn. Definitely a surprise at this point! The remainder of the book does not hit quite as high as the middle, but it kept my full attention from that point on. I would call this suspense rather than mystery. I haven't read any of Joy Fielding's books before, so I don't know if this is her usual writing form. Regardless, it ends with a grande finale!"

— Sue, 1/23/2014" Surprise ending. Excellent. "
— Cindy, 1/11/2014" The first & last i'll read of Joy Fielding. If you're ill & you've nothing else to read it will keep you going. Put whilst it's a twist at the end & will keep you going it's poorly written. "

— Necole, 12/23/2013" Reminded me of an Alfred Hitchcock flick. It was a page turner from beginning to the surprise ending. "
— Gloria, 12/22/2013" My least favorite Fielding book. The foreshadowing began very early, but the payoff was not worth reading through the book. "
— Cheri, 12/18/2013" A very different book than the others she's written. Terry is a 40-year-old, never-married nurse. When she rents her cottage to Alison, she immediately begins to suspect that things are not what they seem. Boy, is she right! "
— Debra, 12/4/2013" I really enjoyed reading the book. it was great "
— Elahe, 11/29/2013" Meh, JF is a writer that I have found that people love or they don't. I have found that I can take or leave her books. I have read several now and although they get 3 stars from me..they don't *pop*, so I consider her writing to be nice filler stuff when I need a really light, fluffy book. "
— Naomi, 11/29/2013" The storyline sucked me right in and, as usual, you felt as if you knew the characters Fielding was writing about. The twist at the end I didn't see coming and went back and read the book a second time to see if I missed something...I didn't! "
— Jan, 11/28/2013" Wow. What a great ending. Did not expect that at all. Didn't see that one coming. Must go to the library to see if they have more Joy Fielding's books. I loved her fictional books too. Grand Avenue comes to mind. "

— Kmaxham, 2/11/2011" My least favorite Fielding book. The foreshadowing began very early, but the payoff was not worth reading through the book. "
— Cheri, 9/10/2010" This author tends to ramble about insignificant things but overall, the book was entertaining. I doubt I will remember what it was about in a year, though. "
— Christine, 8/18/2010" The main character was a "sick" person. <br/>I felt like my time was wasted reading about her. "

— Alice, 11/23/2009" not a writing style I enjoy, and just really nothing about it that I liked, especially the fact that I kept reading just to find out how it finally ended, then thought the ending was really stupid. Sigh! "
— Shannon, 9/18/2009" This is one of the few books that I have stopped reading half way through. It was just too upsetting to continue. "
— Sandra, 8/15/2009" This book is intense. It zips along like a roller coaster ride. Never saw that ending coming though! "
