Publisher Description

Six-year-old Zoe York has been taken, and her mother comes to Remy for help. He thinks the cops would be a better choice—until the desperate woman shows Remy why she chose him out of all the private detectives in Massachusetts. There are drawings. Crude childlike drawings that show Zoe’s visions of the future. Everything leading up to her abduction, and some beyond. Such as the picture of a man with wings who would come and save her—a man who is an angel. This is more than a mere kidnapping. Zoe’s preternatural gifts have made her a target for those who wish to exploit her power for their own destructive ends. And the search takes Remy to dark places he would rather avoid. But to save an innocent, Remy will ally himself with a variety of lesser evils—and his soul may pay the price.

" I love the tortured and lonely hero in this series. I can't wait to read the next one. I do wish they were available for my eReader. "

" I don't really remember the first 2 books, but this was a descent story, and a nice easy read after some of the longer and more complex stuff I've been reading lately. Nothing worth going out of your way to read unless you already like the series/read the previous ones. "

" While this entry was not as compelling as previous works, the Remy Chandler series by Thomas Sniegoski has become one of my favorite paranormal/urban fantasy series. Chandler is an angel, a warrior for God, who turned his back on heaven following the Fall. Sickened by the slaughter in that heavenly war, he has come to Boston to live as a human and help where he can as a private detective. Like Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden, Remy is a flawed hero, whose choices often come at a terrible cost. Remy has lost his true love, his friends, in a series of struggles against evil. And while the story lines are dark and often wrenching, his faithful black lab Marlowe, and close friends lighten the tone and keep us hopeful. 3.5 stars "

" I am only giving this a four star rating because of one aspect of the story. It started in the last book and apparently he is going to continue it. THe next book may be my last, I don't know yet. Otherwise I really like these books. "
