"Violet Dawn is a double mystery! It has a murder mystery plot as well as a personal mystery plot. The author builds to a climax and then switches to another story line altogether and leaves the reader hanging. This pattern occurs throughout the book and kept me hanging on--kind of like a soap opera. It has both suspense and action that made me want to keep reading. I was hooked right from the start along with Leslie, the small town reporter looking for her big story. I recommend this to anyone who likes suspense or mysteries."

" This story about a woman in peril and the small town she tries to hide in was very well written. The characters were identifiable and helped me connect with the story. "
— Jacquelyn, 2/18/2014" I read this to gain a better understanding of what constitutes "inspirational suspense." A good read; I'll read the next in the series. Played well to my liking of mystery, murder and mayhem. Did a good job of tying in the Christian message without being preachy. "
— Rhonda, 2/18/2014" Mystery Thriller with clean language. "
— Tina, 2/9/2014" I like that Brandilyn Collins is a Christian author. She writes suspense novels. Sadly, I fgured out the story quickly becasue it was very similar to the other Brandilyn Collins book I have read. "
— Renee, 2/8/2014" Excellent read. Keeps you on the edge of your seat! "
— Andrea, 2/6/2014" Brandilyn Collins. What more do I need to say. "
— Eddie, 2/3/2014" This wasn't a bad book, but there just wasn't much to it. It wrapped up too perfectly, too quickly at the end, and there wasn't much depth to it or the characters. In fact, there were too many characters thrown in. I know it was the first book in a new series, but having all the characters thrown in just to introduce them made the book feel a little cluttered and confusing. "
— Lindsey, 2/2/2014" Imagine finding a dead body in your hot tub... and knowing that if you call the police all your own darkest secrets will be exposed, and you will wind up as the next dead body. "
— Anne, 1/20/2014" This book was recommended to me by a member of my church - she had read it for the Church Book Club. It is a good mystery with a few twists that I wasn't expecting. It was a very quick and easy read. "

— Karen, 12/4/2013" A kindle freebie whose price soared. Pretty good book - keeps you interested but something was missing - a connection between the characters. "
— Carol, 10/27/2013" I've read this before, but it had been a very long time. I just now got the rest of the books, so I had to read it again to refresh my memory. Brandilyn's books never take me long to finish because I always want to see what's going to happen next. "
— Teresa, 7/17/2013" Adequate escapist fluff. Interesting that it is a Christian-themed suspense/mystery. I've never quite read one in that catagory before. Terrible writing but the plot clipped along nicely. "
— Meredith, 5/29/2013" Brandilyn Collins has what it takes to get the reader into the story right away. There is mystery and excitement that keeps me reading through until the end. "
— R, 5/4/2013" This book was stupid. I don't understand why everyone is giving it 4 stars. The writing is so cheesy with so many "you go girl!" sayings I wanted to strangle myself. The mystery was the only thing that kept me reading it and I still guessed it. LAME. "
— Lisa, 1/31/2013" Another crime mystery novel. Pretty decent. Enough to keep me going in the series. "
