Listener Opinions

" Almost a four star. I think I had a hard time with the tough guy persona, thats all. Easy to keep reading. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Brian | 2/16/2014

" When I was in school slacking off half the time, Jay was out there working hard. If you don't know who the hells angels are, read this book anyways "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Paul | 2/14/2014

" not such a bad read if you enjoy listening to an inflated ego jock bragging about how he intentionally mislead, back stabbed and enticed those that trusted his fake persona. the book doesn't leave you feeling like he accomplished or overcame his circumstances, but rather, with a bitter taste showing just how low a person is prepared to go in order to earn a living. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kelli | 2/13/2014

" I could hardly put this book down. I read it in 3 days. It was riviting and well written. Sub cultures, including gangs are always interesting to learn about. It's fascinating to me how these groups form and feel entitled to money, property, and lawlessness just because they share a common uniform. Great read. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Shanrina | 2/4/2014

" I had a hard time reading this book in spots, but not because of the subject matter. The writing wasn't always clear, and I wound up having to reread far too many passages to get the proper meaning sometimes. It was also hard to keep a lot of the people mentioned in the book straight after awhile, especially when they were mentioned again later. The subject matter was interesting, though. "

" this gave me my motorcycle gang fix while i was waiting for the new season of sons of anarchy, but the book kind of lost me though because i thought the whole undercover mission was pointless. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Rob | 1/20/2014

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Andrea | 10/16/2013

" Brilliant true crime undercover story. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Anne | 7/12/2013

" Fun to read. Interestingly, the author comes out sounding like a bigger jerk for the most part than many of the big bad bikers he was investigating (with some obvious exceptions). I felt sorry for him and his family. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Sandra | 6/18/2012

" Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh. No rat finks. WTF "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Mark | 1/19/2012

" Scary real life account from undercover cop in Hell's Angels - a must read if you are a fan of SOA "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Nick | 2/2/2011

" The story focuses on the effects of the investigation on the undercover officer. It was informative and entertaining, and did an exellent job showing how an undercover investigation impacts the friends, family and coworkers as well. Beware, not surprisingly there is a significant amount of language. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jerry Schlossnagle | 11/28/2010

    " I couldn't put it down. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Adam | 8/21/2010

" This was OK. "Under and Alone" is a similar, better book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Cody | 11/17/2009

    " I couldn't put this book down!!! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Tonny | 9/5/2009

" This book was unreal. The best part was that most of it took place in Arizona my place if residence. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Rob Rausch | 1/15/2009

" At times gripping; at other times, it made me think that the lives of an undercover cop and Hells Angels were actually relatively boring. Unnecessarily vulgar and violent, but the author was actually brutally honest with his own experience. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jonathanfstick | 12/9/2008

" This is, by far, one of the best books that I've read for a while. Not only because of the "badass" factor, but also because of the honesty of the author, the cadence of prose and the book's overall fell. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! "
