Fighting to survive in a ravaged world, a Dweller and a Savage form an unlikely alliance in New York Times bestselling author Veronica Rossi's ""unforgettable dystopian masterpiece"" (Examiner.com).
Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland—known as The Death Shop—are slim. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild—a savage—and her only hope of staying alive. A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile—everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption.
In alternating chapters told in Aria's and Perry's voices, Under the Never Sky subtly and powerfully captures the evolving relationship between these characters and sweeps readers away to a harsh but often beautiful world. Continuing with Through the Ever Night and concluding with Into the Still Blue, the Under the Never Sky trilogy has already been embraced by readers in twenty-six countries and been optioned for film by Warner Bros.

"With the success of The Hunger Games dystopian fiction is all the rage now in the young adult book market. Under the Never Sky is a very worthy newcomer to this growing genre. The story was fascinating and Aria is a very compelling character. I love books with strong female leads so that was a big plus for me. Definitely check this audiobook out."

“Narrator Bernadette Dunne [Flagler’s] husky voice captures both the intense survival story and the earnest young love that emerges. The novel’s point of view alternates between that of Aria and Perry, yet Flagler keeps each distinct. There’s action from the get-go, and Flagler sounds like she’s as caught up in the whirlwind as the characters…A fun take on the current dystopian trend.”
— AudioFile“A pure delight. Narrator Bernadette Dunne [Flagler] flawlessly moves from character to character, giving each one a distinct persona. Sure to captivate listeners.”
— Library Journal“[Dunne Flagler’s] capable reading brings suspense and dramatic action to listeners’ ears…A satisfying way to experience Rossi’s gripping tale of survival, love, and loyalty.”
— Booklist (audio review)“Fans of The Hunger Games will cheer Aria’s gradual, warrior-like transformation over the course of the novel.”
— Booklist“Rossi grounds her worldbuilding in language, creating idioms for the Dwellers and Outsiders that add texture to their respective myths; her characters brave and complex and her prose smooth and evocative. Inspired, offbeat, and mesmerizing.”
— Kirkus Reviews (starred review)“A debut author to watch. Under the Never Sky has a Star Wars feel, complete with charming enemies-turned-friends-turned-lovers romance and the juxtaposition of futuristic technology amongst a barren landscape. The story is told in alternating narratives by the two main characters, which Rossi pulls off nicely…A standout.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)" It took a bit of time to get into it, but now I can't wait for the next book to come out in January! "
— Jamie, 2/18/2014" I thought that this book was pretty good. The plot could have been a little more clear , but for the most part it was well written. The range of vocabulary is pretty good and i like the subtle romance going on. "
— Addi, 2/14/2014" Actually a 4.5 for me! Enjoyed reading this one, hope the next one is at par or even better! Excited for the next one! "
— Justine, 1/29/2014" I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to do a full review of this book on my blog and I decided in the end that thought it was an enjoyable read, it really didn't do much for me as a book. That being said I know tons of people who have read and loved this book, so I think really it's a matter of taste. For me it was a couple of aspects a) the romance was too big a part of the story for me b) that the world building wasn't unique enough and c) the characters though well developed were not interesting to me. I wanted there to be some twists and turns in the story, and that never really happens. All the characters are incredibly nice and are exactly what they seem to be. That is fine but it's not to my personal tastes in reading. It however was fast paced and exciting in terms of it's plot but it just didn't have a 'wow' factor for me. I think you have to love the romance to love this book and I just didn't. "
— Alisa, 1/28/2014" Loved it very much! Will start on the second one right away! :) "
— Mahony, 1/17/2014" Technically, I didn't finish this... I couldn't get through the first 25%.... "
— Geri, 1/10/2014" Wow wow wow INCREDIBLE BOOK!! Not sure why I waited so long to pick this up but it is sure to be an all time Dystopian fav :) "
— Jaclyn, 1/6/2014" I ended up loving this book, but only b/c I stuck with it. I took an inordinate amount of time for me to really get into it, but now that I did I cannot wait for the sequel. EXCELLENT ending. "
— Jessica, 10/17/2013" I don't often give five stars but this one came close. The plot may be recycled but the characters, situations and discriptions are fresh, new and imaginative. I might even consider the sequels. "
— Don, 9/24/2013" I wasn't sure that I would like this book after the first few pages. But the story got better as the author developed the characters and I found myself looking forward to reading a few pages every night. I plan to start the second book in the series to see what's happening now! "
