On the eve of her retirement, Georgia attorney Mikala Aulani is as vivacious and vibrant as ever, eagerly anticipating a happy future with her partner, Ben. But if Kala has learned anything in thirty-five years of practicing law, it’s that the truth can always surprise you. And when Adam Star turns up at her office, confessing to the long-ago murder of his wife, Kala must return to a notorious case that has never stopped haunting her.
Ten years have passed since young nurse Sophie Lee was accused of murdering her wealthy patient, Audrey Star. Kala defended Sophie and had no doubt of her innocence—or of Adam Star’s guilt—but the prosecution convinced a jury otherwise. Sophie was convicted on a Tuesday—the day on which every significant event in her life, good or bad, seems to happen. Now, on the verge of his death, Adam exonerates Sophie and also leaves her a huge fortune in atonement.
Released from prison, Sophie retreats to Kala’s house and tries to evade the media frenzy that surrounds her. Kala is determined to help her client make her way back into the world and adjust to her new wealth and freedom. Yet for both, there are still revelations in store—about the nature of redemption, the strange workings of fate, and the power of forgiveness. And most of all, about the secrets that hide in every heart—even those we think we know best.

"A young orphan named Sophie Lee worked two jobs in order to put herself through nursing school and landed a job as full-time care giver with multi-millionaire Audrey Star. Audrey's husband, Adam, had difficulty keeping any nurses around for more than a week because of his invilid wife's caustic tongue. But Audrey perservered and Adam paid her well for her services. Now Sophie's life is on the line when her patient is found murdered. Georgia attorney Mikala, "Kala" Aulani defended Sophie to the best of her ability, truly believing in her innocence but prosecution attorney, Ryan Spenser convinced a jury otherwise. After serving ten years of her life prison term, Adam Star walked into Kala's office with mere days to live, to admit to killing his wife and to clear Sophie of all charges. In addition, Adam is leaving his entire wealth to Sophie upon his death. Days later when Adam dies, Sophie is released from prison and whisked away to Kala's native land Hawaii to be away from the media to try to adjust getting back to a life of normalcy and to digest her new found wealth. But can Sophie find it in her heart to forgive those that had done such a horrible injustice to her? Can Kala help Sophie overcome what has happened to her?Excellent story of truth, justice and forgiveness. Lots of twists and turns."

" Life has many twists and turns daily. This book has many of those. "
— Suzanne, 2/19/2014" I enjoyed the book except the last pages. It was as if everything was hurriedly thrown in so the book could be finished. I think the ending could have the same conclusion but could have been handled differently. I dislike when you have antagonist in a story then at the end of the book everyone makes nice and its finished with a bow on it. Disappointing ending. "
— Pam, 1/27/2014" I probably would have given this 4 stars ... but I absolutely *HATED* the ending of this book :( "
— Debbie, 1/18/2014" This was a quick read which was tolerable until the last chapter. I don't want to spoil it for Fern Michaels' fans but I didn't see how characters can change their personalities in a short airplane ride. I won't be reading any more of her books - too shallow characters and no depth to the plot. "
— Lynda, 7/17/2013" I found this writing to be simplistic and weak...boring. "
— Gretchen, 6/24/2013" I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read with likable characters. The "whodunit" was not completely obvious...which is a good thing. "
— Monti, 6/10/2013" This "Tuesday's Child" is NOT "full of grace." It is an Ok book but I am not drawn to read anymore by Michaels. The characters are a bit of a stretch, one goes from prisoner to multi-millionaire. Enough said. "
— Mary, 4/29/2013" As I love anything about Hawaii, this book was a good read for me. The ending wasn't a surprise, though. "
— Sandy, 3/15/2013" Her books have no "meat" to them. Very light weight anymore, or maybe they always have been. "
— Marcia, 1/4/2013" Loved this! It had drama, romance, mystery, adventure and surprise. "
— Nancy, 12/8/2012" I was not a fan of the Sophie character especially her treatment of her loyal friends. Not one of her best as far as development of the focal characters. "
— Whtyac, 11/28/2012" Terrible writing and poorly developed story. Not worth the time. "
— Ruthanne, 8/14/2012" Wrong assumptions about people and situations leads to wrong conclusions. Good story line, but derogatory language was a huge detraction, as it was certainly not necessary for the story line to be developed. It was particularly distracting in listening to the book. "
— Doris, 7/5/2012" My no brainer. Thoroughly enjoyable. Easy, fast reading. "
