"I loved the Cal Leandros books by Rob Thurman for their urban fantasy setting but also for the dry, witty dialogue. Trick of the Light is no exception although it's focused on a new character Trixa. The ending had such a fabulous plot twist that I'm not sure how the next in the series can live up to it, but I can't wait to read it to find out."

" I don't think I have anything to say that hasn't already been said, but I will say this: I stumbled across spoilers for the ending of this book twice, and my mind was still blown. "

" I do so love Thurman's snarky sense of humour, and Trixia managed to trump even Cal in terms of snarkiness. She was everything I love in a heroine. I can't wait to read more in the series! "

" Right finally finished and it was Ok. I liked the banter but could of done without all of Trixa's inner monologue! And her whining about her dead brother! I won't rush to read book 2 as this was an effort to finish! "

" Didn't like this book. It reads kind of preachy and that's not a good thing in a fantasy book. Had a horrible time getting into it. Didn't really ever come to care for the characters or feel a sense of purpose in their quest. Can't wait for her next book with Cal and Niko. Can do without Trixa. "

" I'm a big fan of Rob Thurman's Cal books. I thought Trick of Light was very well written, but it was definitely a different kind of story. One that although I enjoyed it, I don't think I'll be reading any of the other books in the series. "
