"I loved the Cal Leandros books by Rob Thurman for their urban fantasy setting but also for the dry, witty dialogue. Trick of the Light is no exception although it's focused on a new character Trixa. The ending had such a fabulous plot twist that I'm not sure how the next in the series can live up to it, but I can't wait to read it to find out."

" I don't think I have anything to say that hasn't already been said, but I will say this: I stumbled across spoilers for the ending of this book twice, and my mind was still blown. "
— Ashley, 11/18/2013" I liked the banter a lot. The twist at the end was perfect. There was a little incident at the end that I didn't care for, and without spoilers, I can't say what it was. "
— Treva, 6/14/2013" I do so love Thurman's snarky sense of humour, and Trixia managed to trump even Cal in terms of snarkiness. She was everything I love in a heroine. I can't wait to read more in the series! "
— Kez, 12/1/2012" Lots of fun with interesting characters, settings, and plot. "
— Lindig, 10/23/2012" Love this book and love Trixa. All the turns at the end were heart-pounding. Absolutely wonderful if you can get past the first few chapters. :) "
— Crystal, 5/28/2012" Right finally finished and it was Ok. I liked the banter but could of done without all of Trixa's inner monologue! And her whining about her dead brother! I won't rush to read book 2 as this was an effort to finish! "
— ★Rachael, 1/6/2012" Didn't like this book. It reads kind of preachy and that's not a good thing in a fantasy book. Had a horrible time getting into it. Didn't really ever come to care for the characters or feel a sense of purpose in their quest. Can't wait for her next book with Cal and Niko. Can do without Trixa. "
— Angela, 9/11/2011" First in the new Trickster shape-shifting series by the author of the highly readable Leandros brothers urban fantasy sagas. "
— Caroline, 4/29/2011" The amazing twist at the end had me kicking myself that I didn't at least suspect the whole thing, but no one could guess the whole information packed end to a great book. "
— Kortney, 2/15/2011" Great read. I liked the characters alot. Great female heroine. A suprise ending I totally didnt see coming. Looking forward to A Grimrose Path. "
— Heather, 12/21/2010" Interesting world, characters, and a side of Sin City (Vegas) that the tourists don't usually see. Also good read for conspiracy theorists. "
— Ann, 12/18/2010" fun read..an interesting interpretation on otherworldly creatures and powers.. "
— Joe, 11/22/2010" I'm a big fan of Rob Thurman's Cal books. I thought Trick of Light was very well written, but it was definitely a different kind of story. One that although I enjoyed it, I don't think I'll be reading any of the other books in the series. "
