"I can not give my appreciation for the moment because I just started reading "This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx". On the other hand , I just finished "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star of Nikki Sixx".I loved this book and I devoured it! my first impressions are that the second book is also excellent than the first! I find it hard to interrupt my reading!I invite you to do like me, you will not regret it! I pledge to give my final impression as soon as I finished my reading!"

" A little self indulgent but I do find this man's life very interesting. The photography is a little what you might call unusual. But it was very eye catching. "
— Cherri, 2/20/2014" A continuing story of a man who is an inspiration to everyone and still showing no signs of slowing down. Nikki Sixx is a true hero, one of a kind with a heart of gold that sees the beauty in everything and everyone!! "
— A.L., 2/15/2014" This book was ok. I don't have much to say about it that hasn't been said already. One thing that drove me crazy was that the titles of the photos were in teeny tiny print that I could not read with my aging eyes. In addition there was intermittent red printing on a black background that was hard to make out as well. My eyes ached by the end of the book. Nikki sounds almost happy and is definitely in recovery and he will tell anyone who reads this book ALL about it (sometimes ad nauseum). "
— Andrea, 2/15/2014" Awesome book! Nikki got so much to tell us.. "
— Magnus, 2/12/2014" I love anything Nikki does. So honest. "
— Patty, 2/8/2014" As promised in the beginning, it hurt. This book was not at all what I anticipated. It was better. Whether a Crue or Sixx fan, it doesn't matter. This book is about acceptance, tolerance, forgiveness and learning about yourself. Then getting up off your ass and doing something. Pretty damn impressed. "
— Constance, 2/1/2014" This is a beautiful blend of art. It is so eye opening to be guided through this dark world, and learn to find the beauty in even the most broken, corrupt things. This book it amazing on its own, yet can also be coupled with the amazing soundtrack. Its a new direction from the Heroin Diaries, but is just as good, if not better. "
— Steph, 1/30/2014" So inspirational! Truly, it changed my outlook on things, it's so amazing & the photography is both beautiful and thought provoking. "

— Sami, 9/16/2012" Despite having OD'd a couple times, I have found a new respect for Nikki Sixx. He may appear as a strung out rocker, but his most recent book left me wanting to know more. His photography is intriguing yet morbid. He was right when he said that you don't want to stare, but you can't help it. "
— Shelly, 5/29/2012" A good majority of the text was cliche and he retold a few Motley stories, but the pictures were great! "
