Alisa’s guilt grows when she becomes involved in a dangerous conspiracy. A top-secret group knows Alisa’s secret and will stop at nothing to use her powers for their cause. " I very much preferred the previous series (books 1 and 2). I thought that the other books ended well, though they did leave the story of Paula and John unfinished. Christopher Pike, I love you, but this one was a little lacking. Things Sita could do in the other books, like be unaffected by alcohol, break through concrete walls, and know when anyone was near, were mysteriously missing all of a sudden. She was even physically slower in this book than she was in the previous ones. I get that she needs challenges, but you cannot change who she is and what she can do to achieve that. And why aren't male vampires sterile all of a sudden? We've never heard of a vampire child before (minus Kalika, who was something else entirely), but suddenly we have one. I seriously doubt all the other male vampires kept it in their pants for thousands of years. I was upset by all the inconsistencies. Again, these publishing companies should hire a real editor... like me. "

" Didn't even know to look for a third thirst book, what with the way the second one ended. Wasn't too pleased with having to wait 'til well in to the book for them to address why she's still alive and a vamp. I even went back to the previous book and reread some sections to make sure i remembered clearly. I didn't care for the reason Pike gave as to her prolonged existence, i felt it was kind of a cop out in the sense he needed an excuse for her to still be a vamp even though the series had a definitive ending when he first wrote over ten years ago...Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled he started the series again, and i was literally jumping for joy when i saw a third thirst in the bookstore. I just think he could have come up with a better explanation as to why/how she was still alive. that's all. "

" Well you can skip the first two books in the series and start straight off with this one. I am glad too because the other two (or six if you count them as they were first released)were just kind of far reaching. This one is more modern while still keeping Sita's history alive. I like how they bring Yaksha's background more to light and I am excited to see where this goes in the next book. "

" I can't say that I enjoyed where this series went, thus the reasoning for me to not have continued reading the other book(s) in the series. At some point I'll pick them up because I am still curious as to how it all ended but I can't say that it was what I expected. "
