"My favorite description is on the back of the book.... "The Studs Terkel of zombie journalism." This book won't make you smarter, break your heart, lift you up, or teach you something new. It is, however, a lot of fun. It's one of those books that makes you glad that you're an adult, because no one will tell you to turn the lights out and go to bed. Why sleep when you can stay up and read."

" Eh. It was okay. It was entertaining but because all of the action had already taken place, it was hard for me to care as much. Much of the reason why I like reading zombie fiction is because all the action is gape ing as I am reading it. The characters are actually experiencing it. This book was more about the aftermath. Not as interesting. Still good but eh overall. "

" I loved every moment of this book. Max Brooks really nailed the oral history genre. It felt like I was reading non-fiction. Amazing. "

" The writing is not bad, but the book is really quite meh. There is no plot or characters to get attached to and most of the scenarios are kind of old-hat at this point because zombie fiction/cinema is so common. I enjoyed reading it, but I would have been just as fine never picking it up either. In short, nothing special about this at all. "

" Movie looks good but I didn't like the book at all! It wasn't at all what I expected and I gave up around page 60. Very hard to follow, very dull. I hardly ever give up on a book! Very disappointed "
