"It doesn't get any better than this, folks. Edgar Allan Poe is the unchallenged master of horror and what got me into reading books. His short stories always deliver and are imbued with a unique horror aura. The stuff of legends, ladies and gentlemens."
— Alessandro (5 out of 5 stars)

— Snufkin, 7/6/2013" This remains one of the most horrific collection of tales ever - and the creepy illustration on the front of a skeleton with glowing red eyes and a black hood definitely helps the ambiance. Great illustrations in the book as well. "

— Melissa, 2/2/2012" So many books I've read lately referred to Poe that I felt I ought to re-read some of the short stories. In the end, I've opted for three stars, as the good ones are really good, and for the most part balance out the stories which grabbed me less. "
— Trish, 11/2/2011" Probably the first "adult" book I ever read - think it's the only work of fiction my dad had in the house. It wasn't this cover, but I got this edition more recently. Definitely shaped my reading tastes "
— Derm, 10/18/2011" Poe is so macabre. And brilliant. The illustrations in this are very vibrant. They kind of feel like an assault on my eyes. Not my cup of tea, but they fit Poe's work really well, I think. "
— Caiti, 9/13/2011" This is one of my favorite "go-to" books... I LOVE IT!!! I just pick a story... I have yet to read all the stories... It may take me a bit - small doses of dreariness, I suppose. :) "
