The Story of The Late Mr. Elvesham is a short story by H. G. Wells. The story concerns a scientist who discovers a way to transfer his consciousness into the body of a younger man, in order to enjoy a longer life. However, the scientist soon discovers that his new body is not as perfect as he had thought, and that the process of transferring his consciousness has left him unable to return to his original body.
