"This book was very enjoyable. I'll try to find more by this author. There is another book with a similar name that sounds like it might work for me. The characters were engaging, the story was different from the norm, and the plot was intriguing. I recommend."

“In her exceptional debut romance, Bourne deftly distills danger, deception, and desire into a seamlessly constructed story that will captivate readers with its irresistible combination of superbly nuanced characters and a high-adrenaline plot.”
— Booklist“An emotionally powerful action-adventure thriller reminiscent of Elizabeth Boyle and Madeline Hunter. With its twists, surprises galore, spies and counter-spies, and trust and distrust, this intricate, marvelous story captivates.”
— RT Book Reviews (4½ stars, Top Pick!)" Totally delightful, but I seriously felt like I needed a book cover for reading it in public. Washboard abs on my book, no thank you. If I want a book about N*SYNC I will read one. "
— Rebekah, 2/19/2014" There are some books that are very appealing on the first glance and you get high hopes that they will end up being good, but the thing that went wrong with this story was its narration. I couldn't understand their talk, this story was just pulling my nails. It wasn't that it hurt me, but because I was so hoping to be good, it wasn't. I didn't believe it, that she was blind, and that later she didn't recognise this spy because he changed his voice and then later when he deflowered her in the bathtub I stopped reading. Oh, not because I find virgins and spies in water distasteful but if that scene didn't provoke my interest, which one then would. The biggest thing I object is lack of consistency. If you're good, strive to be good all the way through, not just glimpses here and there. "
— Jana, 2/11/2014" Mark Twain once wrote a scathingly funny review of the Leatherstocking tales by James Fenimore Cooper in which he detailed the improbability, both psychological and physical, of the adventures Cooper described. My initial reaction to this book reminded me of Twain's reaction to Cooper, though I'd be much less funny about it. But though the cover art is cringe-worthy, and though there are some elements of the story that made me roll my eyes, it's an easy read, and an entertaining one. "
— David, 2/9/2014" A fantastic regency adventure romance! Spies and plots. And so very well written. Just brilliant. I can't wait to read Ms. Bourne's next book. "
— Alleyne, 2/2/2014" I read this at the recommendation of a friend. The cover is embarrassing and has nothing to do with the book. I don't think we ever see the hero outside with his shirt half off. This would be a fine book for a beach or airplane, as the heroine is fun and there are parts of the book that are quite funny. The plot twists and turns and there are enough surprises to keep it interesting. It's very light and not very satisfying, but fun and interesting if you are looking for that type of book. "
— Carolyn, 1/29/2014" Too smart to be just romance. "
— J., 1/18/2014" a wonderful and very detailed romance. "
— Jasmine, 1/13/2014" I enjoyed this historical romance. There really isn't much bodice ripping action, so I almost feel like it could be re-packaged as light spy fiction. I thought there was plenty of plot action, witty dialogue, and interesting history - plus a sexy hero to boot. "
— Kori, 12/26/2013" Downloaded and read over a weekend...a fun read! "
