"This is a great story about two men who are very close friends and one woman who both are in love with. You can say it is a love story , but it is more than that. Both men are smoke jumpers and one of them is a world photographer besides. We read about the crimes against humanity that is taking place in the world today. I don't want to give anything away about the book. It tells a lot about life and wars that are being fought now in the world. It reminds me of "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Ernest Hemingway. You must read this book"

The elk emerged from the burning trees and stopped on the ridge above him. Its coat was scorched black and its antlers flamed like a torch. It stood there staring down at him and he felt like a pagan summoned before some ancient deity or devil from a world beyond. He slowly raised his camera and took its picture. Then, suddenly, it was gone, as if it never had been. But Connor knew it was an omen, though of what, as yet he had no idea.
" The book is well written and entertaining, and then I realized buddy-boy's best friend was going to impregnate his wife/girlfriend and then I put the book down and I just don't care what happens next. "
— Louis, 2/14/2014" I really liked it and for some reason i like the character connor ford posseses is the courage to risk his life just to save the woman he loves but knows he cannot have. The main message to this story was the important things in life never happened by accident. But even with those things that were meant tobe , sometimes you had to wait awhile and then maybe a little while nudge "
