Travel writer Lily Moore has been persuaded by her closest friend, photographer Jesse Robb, to visit Peru with him. At Machu Picchu, they discover a woman clinging to life at the bottom of an ancient stone staircase. Just before the woman dies, she tells Lily the name of the man who pushed her. When the local police investigate, the forensic evidence they find doesn't match what Lily knows. Unable to accept the official ruling of accidental death, Lily hunts down the wealthy man who was the dead woman's traveling companion and discovers a pattern of dead and missing women in his wake. Obsessed with getting justice for these women, Lily sets in motion a violent chain of events that will have devastating consequences.

"Another fantastic read for Hilary Davidson. Just as good, if not better than the first installment. Davidson is the best female crime writer out there. If you have not read any of her stuff, you are nuts. Start at the beginning with THE DAMAGE DONE and be prepared for a real treat. I am anxiously awaiting the third book. It is arriving at my house this week. Highly Recommended!!!"

" Hilary Davidson is a really talented mystery author and I love her characters. It's rare an author can take me so far from the scene of the first book (which I adored) and make me still love it so much! But I really did and her descriptions of Peru made me absolutely itch to travel there. "
— Emily, 1/18/2014" Why didn't I start this series when it was first published? Really enjoyed the 2nd, and the third is in my bag to take home tonight. "
— Jennifer, 12/28/2013" Great yarn...kept me wanting to see what would happen. "
— Marty, 12/23/2013" Very exciting story. Lots of plot twist and turns. "
— Nancy, 12/22/2013" I like Lily and Jesse, enjoyed the story, and will look for the previous one "
— Jan, 12/13/2013" 3.5 stars. I listened to it rather than read it. It took me awhile to get into the story. I didn't enjoy the characters, probably not enough development of the ancillary characters. Generally, not a bad read. "
— Alisha, 12/10/2013" Didn't hold my attention like the first book. "
— Joy, 12/6/2013" This book was kind of boring. "
— Denise, 10/28/2013" Exhilarating! "
— Zattie, 9/16/2013" Despite the crimes in the book, it made me want to hop on the next flight for Peru. :-) "
— Jane, 8/26/2013" This is a great read! A real page turner that leaves you guessing. Can't wait to read her other books! "
— Rachel, 7/13/2013" This was a great book. It kept you on the edge of the couch not wanting to put it down. Just when you thought you had it figured out, it turned out to be something different. It was a great book to read. "
— Tammy, 6/26/2013" The characters in this book tell so many lies and the plot twists make this book very difficult to predict the end. My book included an excerpt from her third novel "Evil in all it's Disguise" and I can't wait to get by "on hold" copy at the bookstore. "
— Debbie, 3/6/2013" Boring, repetitive and I couldn't get into it. "
— Cindy, 2/10/2013" Another one that would be 3 1/2 stars. I listened to it and I think it might be a better audio book then a written book. A good crime mystery, although a little convoluted. We read it for book club because the book club selector is from Peru and I enjoyed the extra details about the location. "
— Jennifer, 9/23/2012" Liked the setting but found the story choppy. "
— Susan, 9/13/2012" I was actually suprised. I enjoyed it. Grabbed my attention right away. I don't ususaly read mystery who-dun-it type books, but I think this could be a winner. "
