" Got a little confusing but still enjoyed it. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Jessie Weiner | 2/5/2014

" Disappointing in comparison with The Eight, I find that even though I vividly remember reading this book only a few years ago, I can't for the life of me remember what it was about. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ann | 2/3/2014

" Really REALLY hard to keep track of all the players in this book! Interesting story but I never really did understand exactly what the "manuscripts" where supposed to tell them except sex is good! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Liza Nahas | 1/22/2014

" A little long & complicated. The Eight & The Fire are much better. But this was entertaining & interesting. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Anita | 1/2/2014

" To me, this was basically the author's attempt to recreate "The Eight", which was great. Sadly, this was not. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Steffi | 1/2/2014

" great idea turned into total crap "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Faypage | 12/28/2013

" By the end of this long and convoluted book I was really starting to wonder what I was reading about. I'm still not sure who was related to who and exactly what the point of the story was. Very disappointing from a author that I have enjoyed reading in the past. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kelly Naughton | 12/23/2013

" A little hard to follow at times with the similar foreign names - but only if you aren't reading it all the time... I really enjoy Katherine Neville's books because she makes you think - and you never see the ending's coming (even though you THINK you do!) "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jennifer | 12/21/2013

" Typical Neville writing style. Some parts a little over my head. Least favorite book of hers so far, but still very engaging. "

    " AWFUL & CONUSING "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Melissa | 6/18/2013

" I love Neville's book The Eight, but this one is poorly structured and complicated. It just kept getting worse and more drawn out. I had to force myself to finish it, and even then it was a let down. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Breezy | 4/16/2013

" Not a fan of this author, this was the second book of her's I tried. This plot was atleast interesting, but I couldn't take her sudden shifts in time which were wayyyyy toooooo long and boring. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Noor | 4/9/2013

" Too convoluted to be enjoyable. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Mark | 5/21/2011

" I gave this precursor to THE DA VINCI CODE two stars because I found it a rather disappointing read, but that might be because nothing compares to Neville's previous novel (THE EIGHT) or because I was recovering from knee surgery and on doped up on percocet the whole time . . . "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Michelle | 4/1/2011

" horrible, too many things going on "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Abigail | 2/2/2011

" I really enjoyed it, very well written thriller type. So many plot twists you'll get whip lash. Reminds me a lot of Dan Brown (though this was written first). Gets disappointing toward the end though, feels a bit anti-climactic. Otherwise, very fun read. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Rebecca | 1/21/2011

" Not my favorite of hers. A little too long and a little too abstract for my current mindset. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Mél | 1/13/2011

" I thought i was too slow-paced and mixed up. But I'll eventually try to read it again. Just in case. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Mrsterrapinpond | 10/27/2010

" Really bad quality audiobook. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Terry | 9/27/2010

" About 100 of the 334 pages I read (of the 554 in the book) were interesting and well written. The remainder were boring, preachy, and incredulous, outdoing Brown's Da Vinci Code (written years before it) in pedantic, mystical theories of clandestine power maneuvering. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Maria | 9/18/2010

" Otro de mis libros favoritos¡me encantó y me lo he leido tantas veces...gran libro para conocer otras èpocas y otros personajes pero con mas encanto que en el "Ocho" "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Melanie | 8/16/2010

" I like all of Neville's novels but this is the best of the best-- wonderful quirky characters, a twisting plot that stretches through recorded history. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Gosia | 8/10/2010

" only Neville can come to such crazy family connections as Ariel has :P "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kelly | 8/5/2010

" Too much history...blah, blah, blah. The story was interesting when the book was not refering back to Roman time, Druids, Caligua, Hitler, Greel gods. See my point with too much history, over half the book was useless to me. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Mrmorrison | 7/23/2010

" interesting concepts but a bit too confusing and scattered "
