"The Hound of the Baskervilles is a longer Sherlock mystery, spanning several chapters rather than being contained in a single one like most of Holmes' adventures. And, I quite liked the slower build up and the added mystery than can be achieved with a longer story. The plot itself was a great one, I felt, and it kept me guessing up until the end. All in all, this is probably my favorite Sherlock Holmes that I've read. A really great story!"

" Required reading in high school. "
— Mo, 2/18/2014" Starts out a little slow, but then just became amazing. "
— Randy, 2/15/2014" I had fun re-reading this classic with my son Benjamin, especially after seeing the BBC series SHERLOCK version. It was interesting to analyze Sherlock's methods in light of the book "Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes." I think Watson is under-valued. In this mystery, at least, he does all of the leg work and Holmes swoops in to take the glory! "

— Chris, 2/12/2011" Spooky dark magic, madness, existentialism...I can see how this has influenced so many modern horror writers. Also, I now understand what critics mean when they refer to writing as "Lovecraftian": Thick and chewy overwritten descriptions abound!

Better than I expected. "
