Publisher Description

The Holly Tree is a warm Christmas story by Charles Dickens and a listening treat for adults during the holiday season or almost any time of year. Full of wonderful Dickensian words, phrases, and irony. The story contains a strain of great truth, and love for Americans, who Dickens depicts over-friendly but warm, kindly, generous, and warm hearted. Many listeners have encouraged us to record more short stories rather than novels because they can listen to them on a walk, car ride, or at home in less than 90 minutes. An American voice was used for this recording, due to reader request.

"A nice Dickens Christmas Story especially Chapter 2. The only problem is this book dropped the last couple paragraphs, fortunately I had the story in another book."

" A bit disappointed with this book particularly as I got it to read for a group discussion on Charles Dickens novels, later in the year, and when I read it found half of it wasn't even written by him! "
