"Bah Humbug!" That's how Ebeneezer Scrooge feels about Christmas--until the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future decide to show the crotchety old miser the error of his ways. Together they travel through time, revisiting all the people who have played an important role in Scrooge's life. And as their journey concludes, Scrooge is reminded of what it means to have love in his heart, and what the true spirit of Christmas is all about. A timeless story the whole family will enjoy!

"This is by far my absolute favorite Christmas tale in existence. Before reading the book I had only the honor of seeing several plays and a few versions on television; now that I've added A Christmas Carol to my "read" shelf, I can only say that my love for the story has grown tenfold. It is heartfelt and timeless; its general message of being a good person will never get old, and the cheer of everyone who surrounds the insufferably grouchy Scrooge both bolsters my mood and restores some of my faith in the capabilities of kindness in mankind. I hold the firm opinion that no matter how many times I read or see this masterpiece, I will never grow tired of old Ebenezer or his haunting Spirits."

" Vanaf de eerste zin een genot om te lezen, blijft heerlijk. Grappig hoe iedereen het verhaal kent, en heel weinig mensen het boek daadwerkelijk gelezen hebben, zou ik iedereen aanraden. Ook een leuke om er een beetje "in te komen" met lezen van Dickens. Wel echt in het Engels lezen, geen vertaling. "

About Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens (1812–1870) was born in Landport, Portsmouth, England, the second of eight children in a family continually plagued by debt. He worked as an attorney’s clerk and newspaper reporter until his early writings brought him the amazing success that was to be his for the remainder of his life. He was the most popular English novelist of the Victorian era, and he remains popular, responsible for some of English literature’s most iconic characters.
