Leslie Charteris had no way of knowing that the Hindenburg was hurtling toward catastrophe. But like his crime-fighting character, the Saint, Charteris has an eye for trouble. First the famous mystery writer suspects the German airship has received a bomb threat. Then he discovers a passenger has mysteriously disappeared.

Convinced the man was pushed overboard, Charteris conducts a covert investigation. But the vanished man turns out to be an undercover Nazi agent, and all of the passengers who fell under his surveillance have a motive for murder. Fearing a grander plot to destroy the airship, Charteris scrambles to find the killer - before it all goes up in flames.

Reconstructing the zeppelin's fatal flight on the eve of World War II, The Hindenburg Murders proves that Max Allan Collins is the master of hard-boiled historical fiction.

" I found this audio very entertaining. Using Leslie Charteris as the reluctant detective on the final voyage of the Hindenburg was inspired and the plot seemed entirely too possible. The narration was done by Jeff Woodman who performed all the different accents flawlessly. "

" I listened to this on CD, read by Jeff Woodman, who did a great job with the voices and accents. The story was entertaining and well researched, with many of the characters actual passengers on the fatal last voyage of the Hindenburg. "

" Decent mystery. Great research! Not being a fan of the more hard-boiled leaning mysteries, I wasn't real keen on some of the female imagery..for instance "Charteris admired the pistonlike action of what appeared to be a fine female bottom underneath." Excuse me? "Pistonlike"????? "

" This was an ok book. I mean it was entertaining and all but not very well written. Pretty easy to figure out also. "
