Publisher Description

Maybe you’ve known about grace for years. You grew up with it. You heard about it from the pulpits, in Bible classes, from radio and TV preachers.

But maybe there’s more to grace than they told you. Yes, it’s God’s “unmerited favor to lost sinners,” but did anyone tell you how grace can change you? How it can revolutionize the way you live?

Grace can give you freedom. Freedom to be creative, spontaneous. Freedom to think outside the box. Grace can make you want to know God, to be close to Him. Grace can cure your fears, improve your outlook, help you look at life through the lens of joy rather than the fog of pessimism.

Grace can strengthen your relationships, giving you freedom to be yourself—and freedom to let others be themselves—without feeling a need to judge, control, or manipulate one another. And yes, grace is God’s incredible gift to each of us that shows His love daily in overflowing measures, giving us reason for hope and joy.

For the growing number of people who feel that there should be something more to their walk with God than the sometimes grim face of religion, The Grace Awakening offers a glorious alternative: the truth that sets us free.

"I bought this book when I was in college, but I didn't read it until a few years ago. I was researching the concept of grace for a piece of fiction I was writing. Then, in the middle of reading it, I realized that I had forgotten why I was reading it. Why, oh, why isn't the concept of grace talked about more in our lives? Swindoll makes his point over and over again that if we fully understood grace, it would change everything about us. I was changed in reading this and the book I was writing changed too."

" This is a fantastic book! I read it while attending a legalistic church, and it really opened my eyes to the difference between a rules (The Law) oriented church, and a love, acceptance, and forgiveness (Grace) oriented church. I highly recommend this book, especially for anyone struggling with law vs grace within the Christian church! "

" This was my least favorite of Swindoll's book. I felt that the book lacked balance. Reflective thought seemed to be missing. I felt that he made little or no effort to understand the point of view of others who disagree with him. In other words I felt that he failed to extend Grace to others. "

The only somewhat negative thought I had was why I had to sign a form to not drink alchohol in order to go to DTS. "
