"OK, so make this a 3.5 star read. Again, Ross MacD is old -- somewhere around the time of Richard Prather's Shell Scott mysteries, but I'm still a fan. Cover art is like Prather, also. For his genre and his day, he's a strong 3.5 stars."

“Ross Macdonald gives to the detective story that accent of class that the late Raymond Chandler did.”
— Chicago Tribune“Ross Macdonald’s Dark Tunnel pairs Tom Parker’s involving style with the story of a university professor who decides to investigate an associate’s murder—and uncovers some surprises.”
— Reviewer’s Bookwatch" Good, especially for a first novel. It was written in the early 40s and is about Nazis and a professor in the U.S. "
