"The Mysterious Benedict Society, Book #1, by Trenton Lee Stewart was an outstanding book. I am a one who loves mystery books. I absolutely loved that fact that this book kept me guessing. Usually in children's mystery books, I can predict what is coming next. Not in this book. I constantly had to keep reading because I just had to know what happened next. After reading the book I went onto the authors website for the book. It enhanced my understanding of the book. Some of the games on the website, were puzzle games, that showed how difficult all the problems were in the story. The characters solved puzzles and riddles just like the ones in the games! I could not do it, so obviously I wouldn't be in the Mysterious Benedict Society. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read the next book in the series!"

" This was not at all what I expected. I imagine that if I were 25 years younger I would have loved it. It just kept reminding me of A Wrinkle in Time. I don't know why. They are quite different. Maybe it was the narrative style. Or the fact that some of the characters went by their full names. That's what irritated me about Wrinkle. It was always Charles Wallace this and Charles Wallace that. "

" This is one of the best books ever! The 4 kids who succeed amaze me so much: Constance Contraire, a 2 now 3 year old really impresses me of her crankiness and cleverness of a 3 year old. Reynard Mudloon and George Washington (Prefers Sticky Washington) are both awesome boys who think very fast. Kate Weatherhall (Prefers the great Kate Weather Machine) That was so cool book! "

" Not sure why, but I really was annoyed by the main characters and found this one really hard to get into. I'm not sure if my kids will want to read it, but I'm hoping that they don't so I don't have to sit through it. Or that they read it to themselves and I feel like I got my money's worth for having bought it and the sequel. "

" I saw this one in a book store and immediately thought of my nephew. He read it and passed along all the subsequent books as well. A fun well-written series in the tradition of The Westing Game, if memory serves me. :) "

" As an audio book, I certainly enjoyed listening to this but I found the story itself to be not as captivating as many would have me believe. I like the offbeat characters but the dastardly plot they foil was pretty out there and unexpected. Still, I'll probably listen to the next one too! "
