" What can be said about the works by Vince Flynn that have not already been said. his books are always well written keeping the reader or listener on the edge of their seats. This will be the same review for each of his books as that is my honest opinion. Just saving my fingers with copy and paste. "

" I have to admit: it was not till chapter 8 or 9 that I realized Mitch Rapp was not featured in this novel. Kennedy, Coleman & Stansbury were there - and being a Vince Flynn novel - I assumed Mitch would enter at any time. Wrong... The story was good. It reveals the underside of DC politics - almost as gross as Rapp's killings! Story line was almost believable - and not far from what should occur. I was glad no legal actions were taken against Coleman et. al., but felt that was a stretch - no "good" dead goes unpunished! Narration was OK. Genders and accents were believable, but narrator seemed stilted, at times, as if he were reading and not performing. Most of the time, he was fine, though. "

" I love this book. I don't want to offer any spoilers but it is in essence about a small group that forces the US Government back into being accountable to its citizens and not controlled by special interests. This is my first read of Flynn's work, and I was pleasantly surprised. He really digs into his subject matter, much in the same way that Tom Clancy does. In fact, he reminds me of Tom Clancy and Dan Silva in this regard. Pretty amazing at what he can uncover. Good tempo that keeps you reading. "

" Again,I want a 1/2 star for a 1 1/2 rating. I can't believe I read the entire book. Just like Tom Clancy's first, this book was in dire need of an editor who would cut it in half. Athriller isn't supposed to drag or be repetitive. And the characters were one dimensional at best. And it was really a right wing screed to the nth degree. Sigh. I am now reading Transfer of Power. i'm trying to figure out Flynn's weird use of time in telling stories. That is fascinating. This first book, had it been my intro to him, would have been the last. Although the demands made by the main group in the book is to balance the budget and cut spending, they at least include in there to cut defense spending. Reminds me of the show 24.
