Sometimes, we fall in love on mission trips even though we know we'll break up when we get back. Sometimes, you have to shot block a friend's prayer because she's asking God to bless an obviously bad dating relationship. Sometimes, you think, "I wish I had a t-shirt that said 'I direct deposit my tithe' so people wouldn't judge me."

Sometimes, the stuff that comes with faith is funny.

This is that stuff.

Jonathan Acuff's Stuff Christians Like is your field guide to all things Christian. You'll learn the culinary magic of the crock-pot. Think you've got a Metro worship leader—use Acuff's checklist. Want to avoid a prayer handholding faux pas? Acuff has you covered.

Like a satirical grenade, Acuff brings us the humor and honesty that galvanized more than a million online readers from more than 200 countries in a new portable version. Welcome to the funny side of faith.

" Hilarious. If you can't laugh at this stuff, you have to cry. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Aimee | 2/4/2014

" It was kind of offensive at times. I took it fine because it felt like I was laughing at myself and like someone wrote down what I always thought but couldn't exactly describe. I enjoyed it a lot, but it's not a book to share with everyone. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Lindsay | 1/28/2014

" Very funny if you grew up in the church...so many "oh man, I know exactly what he's talking about" moments. Guilty of many myself! Definitely recommend to my friends who enjoy a bit of sarcasm "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Emily Tsesmeloglou | 1/18/2014

" Some parts of this book were really funny and more universal to Christian culture. Parts I did not enjoy were stuff that Christians who attend mega-type churches like. Two examples are the metrosexual music minister and altar calls. The author seems to take a neutral stance on these things, but I don't necessarily agree. He points them out as funny, but I think he misses the bigger point because he doesn't actually see anything wrong with them. The last chapter has a more serious tone to it, which just felt really awkward and out-of-place in this book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Eileen | 1/11/2014

" A humurous look at Christian culture. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Maggie | 1/5/2014

" I've had to read this book in small doses. Parts of it are hilarious, other parts I feel are taking it a little to the extreme. If you read this book, you have to keep in mind it is satire! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Lauri | 12/31/2013

" love the book; love the blog. The author is a Christian so while this is a sarcastic look at Christians, he's not attacking. I can't tell you the number of times I laughed out loud or groaned as I recognized myself. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Aprile | 1/3/2012

" This book is a tongue-in-cheek view of how Christians act at church and elsewhere. It ends on a somewhat serious note for someone so silly throughout the book, so don't be too surprised by that. What a funny book. This is great for a car ride or plane ride. Just try not to laugh too loudly. :) "
