Publisher Description

How long can the Jedi remain in power? How far will the Sith go to rule supreme? What chance do both stand against Abeloth?

As Luke and Ben Skywalker pursue the formidable dark-side being Abeloth, the Lost Tribe of the Sith is about to be sundered by an even greater power - which will thrust one Dark Lord into mortal conflict with his own flesh-and-blood.

On Coruscant, a political vacuum has left tensions at the boiling point, with factions racing to claim control of the Galactic Alliance. Suddenly surrounded by hidden agendas, treacherous conspiracies, and covert Sith agents, the Jedi Order must struggle to keep the GA government from collapsing into anarchy.

The Jedi are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring just rule, but even they are not prepared to take on the combined threats of Sith power, a deposed dictator bent on galaxywide vengeance, and an entity of pure cunning and profound evil hungry to become a god.

"This was by far Golden's strongest contribution to the series, and in general it was a move in the right direction for this series. I felt for the past couple books that the same plot kept repeating itself. Crazy Jedi, chasing Aboleth but not quite getting her, underexplained plot brewing involving Imperials, etc. It was like the stories were spinning their wheels and not going anywhere. Without getting into too much detail here, this book actually felt like it went somewhere new. This is the sort of book you want to see as a 9-book series winds down, the kind of story that gives you hope of an action packed finale. Now, all that being said, there is an incident with Vestara toward that end that feels awfully familiar, like we perhaps saw a character in a previous series pretty much do the exact same thing, but that is one of the few criticisms I have. Well done, Ms. Golden, and well done, Lucas Films. I cannot wait to see how Troy Denning, a master in my opinion, finishes this off."

" A thrill a minute. This one will keep you turning. Story lines coming together, action is a little slower than some of the others in the series but you can see it all coming together and it makes you crave more! "

" This book was very good and I enjoyed it much more than the past couple books. To see Ben and Vestara's relationship bloom was very interesting. Also watching the events of the Senate, Coruscant, and Daala, which were boring at first, quickly accelerated into this book. It was nice to finally see Jag show his superiority as the Head of State for the Empire against Daala. Also to finally bring the full might of the New Republic's Jedi Order against Abeloth while letting the Lost Tribe of the Sith grab a foothold on Coruscant seemed like a risky trade, and it was very suprising to see it all turn against Luke in the end. Overall, I enjoyed this book greatly. "

" Overall a really great set-up for the final novel and showdown between the Jedi, the Sith, and Abeloth. I enjoyed the story but all I want is the last book. The first book in this series was incredible and I'm hoping the last is just as amazing. "

" I'm sorry, Abeloth is the least interesting villain in all of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. She's worse than Waru and silly Hutts of Darksaber. Sure, the interactions of Luke, his son and the Sith apprentice are good; but this whole series is as bland as a Bond movie with a shitty super-villain. "

" My SW heart really belongs to Luke Skywalker. I enjoy everybody else, but Luke's the one. This novel, after the first 50 pages of Sith story, has more Luke than many of the others in the SW universe after the birth and youth of his and Han/Leia's children. That makes me happy. "

" Nothing surprising happening here, Sith trying to take over the universe and the Jedi being stupid about it. Pretty much the set up for the finale. Who will win Luke and the Jedi or a strange being and the Sith? Stay tuned. "
