His loneliness will soon turn to fear…. When Chris Buckley moves to Solitary, North Carolina, he faces the reality of his parents’ divorce, a school full of nameless faces—and Jocelyn Evans. Jocelyn is beautiful and mysterious enough to leave Chris speechless. But the more Jocelyn resists him, the more the two are drawn together. Chris soon learns that Jocelyn has secrets as deep as the town itself, secrets more terrifying than the bullies he faces in the locker room or his mother’s unexplained nightmares. He slowly begins to understand the horrific answers. The question is whether he can save Jocelyn in time. This first audio book in the Solitary Tales series will take you from the cold halls of high school to the dark rooms of an abandoned cabin—and remind you what it means to believe in what you cannot see.

"I found this to be a quick read and the characters and story were very easy to follow. I liked the entire thrilling storyline and will definitely read more books from this author. I don't usually read Young Adult books but to be honest, I liked the cover art and that was what made me choose this book over a few others I had on my kindle. I got it free and that is why I had it in the first place. I thought the way the story was told - by first person - was really great. It was a believable story as well even though some things seemed really supernatural if they were on their own but the author sure made it seamlessly go together really well and it made perfect sense all in all. I do recommend this book and this author to others."

“Kirby Heyborne authentically voices the young adult characters in Travis Thrasher’s novel…a compelling listen.”
— School Library Journal (audio review)“Thrasher generates authentic suspense and the feeling that something wicked this way comes. Superior entry in the genre of Christian horror and teenage angst.”
— Kirkus Reviews" It's a little weird but thoroughly haunting, with an unexpected ending. "
— Missmath144, 2/9/2014" Although this book was supposed to be religious, I thought it was thrilling, creepy, sad, and romantic. "
— Karina, 2/6/2014" Although this was fast paced, the execution was poor and the ending was disappointing. "
— Emily, 2/4/2014" This book was a little different for me. It started off good by building the story and continued until about 3/4 way through the book and then it started annoying me a little because it was getting bizarre. I felt like the author was dragging the story out trying to build suspense with a lot of the characters being very cryptic in their conversations to the point of annoyance, when all it was doing was causing impatience to get to the point. Or maybe the author originally had a story in mind and then changed it halfway through and went a different direction with it. The end left me wondering WTH?? Very odd. Plus, most of the book didn't have actual paragraphs. A few short ones here and there scattered, but a lot of single lines double spaced down the Kindle page with sometimes a total of only about 8- 10 lines on the whole page. The story just seemed disjointed at times. "
— Lora, 2/2/2014" This book was a good book, very different from the other books I have read. It was a page turner, though at times it seemed like story would never get to the point, it finally did. Hopefully I will get a chance to read more by this author. "
— Autumn, 1/29/2014" This book, which was free for Kindle, started out pretty decent. Toward the end, the story started to peter out and it just seemed rushed and unfinished. I expected it to end as strongly as it started. "
— Kimberly, 1/25/2014" Bummed with the way it ended... "
— Missy, 1/20/2014" Oh man after reading this book I feel like I was taken to the top of the first big hill on a rollercoaster and left hanging. But this isn't necessarily bad since its the beginning of a series. It has me wanting to read the next one so I think that is a success! "
— Kambrie, 1/4/2014" What an interesting read. "
— Kassandra, 12/26/2013" This book would have been great if the author had answered just ONE of the many questions he asked in the story... and abrupt ending with no answer at all just irritates me. "
— Christi, 12/24/2013" Outstanding! Read it in record time. A true work of genius of a master storyteller. Definatley a must read. "
— Jim, 5/12/2013" I only gave this 3 stars because I really enjoyed all the music references, took me back to my old album & cassette collection from my youth. Other than that it was a 2 star book for me. "
— Monika, 6/5/2012" strange and stranger....it was like running up a hill and then there was nothing there. I still don't understand the point the author was trying to make. confused? yes, yes i am "
— Lori, 4/12/2012" Very dark story. Left me feeling hopeless and helpless. "
— Reggie, 11/12/2011" I was really interested throughout but highly disappointed in the ending. "
— Dawn, 9/2/2011" Better than I thought it would be but it left lots of things unanswered -- did not have an ending - just left you hanging. "
— Karen, 4/19/2011" Wow...I was amazed at how much the main character was a lot like me. "
