"It was a good story, not really predictable which was nice. A few surprises. The narration is good. I am used to him now so changing who narrates would be hard to get used to now. I do find the personal relationship between Michelle and Sean a bit frustrating - are they ever going to get together?!"

“Brick reads in his usual crisp, dramatic manner, although he reveals his softer side when he changes pitch and tone while reading passages that explore Michelle’s mental instability and Sean’s deep concern for her. He seems invested in the plot, almost as if he cares about the outcome. Brick injects personality into the protagonists, whose strengths and weaknesses complement one another.”
— Booklist“There’s nothing simple about Simple Genius, a complicated novel involving murder, geniuses, and the CIA…Scott Brick captures the excitement of this thriller with his unique pacing and style, which are perfect here. Brick even manages to sound somewhat feminine when he needs to be, and his voice for the Southern black gentleman is classic…There’s a lot of heart in this work.”

— Gale, 1/29/2014" This is another fast paced mystery book. I've been enjoying David Baldacci's writings, however I did not enjoy this book as well as the first two I have read. The story itself was interesting however I did not enjoy the characters. The characters felt just too fictional to me. "
— Tina, 1/28/2014" Simple Genius was not one of the best books written b y David Baldacci. The plot of the book seemed to just drag on and never really get off the ground. However, I will continue to read his books based on how much I enjoyed the other ones that he has written. "

— Mom, 5/15/2012" Had already gotten to know the main two characters in the book from an earlier book, so was able to jump right in. Story moves at a quick pace and is hard to put down. "
— K1d2, 5/11/2012" Even though this was not an action packed story (at least until the end) the book had good flow. I would probably read another Baldacci novel he did a nice job with molding the elements of the story together. "
— Jeffrey, 2/25/2012" This book is good, but it has taken a while to finish. I am not sure it had to do with my hectic life or the story. It is slow at times then picks up speed. I like the suspense factor but I think it has been a bit drawn out. "
— Brenda, 1/9/2012" We listened to this and it was so exciting that we sat in the car in the garage to hear the end of a section. If I had read it, I would call it a "page turner." "

The only thing I didn't know when I started this is that there are two more books featuring the main charagters that take place before this book. It was enjoyable anyway, and I'll probably pick up the other two at some point. "
