" I really don't think I want to ready any more books in this little series. This book was EXTREMELY slow in moving. I think it was about pg 160 before I really knew what was going on and before anything happened. The author but a lot of details and facts about stuff in it that never really lead to a story. The so called storyline could have been summed up in a very very few pages. "

" Dr. Vicky Bliss takes off to Sweden to meet John Smythe and gets dragged into his latest scheme to get a Swedish recluse to let him dig for buried medieval treasures. Of course he is betrayed by his co-conspirators and with the help of Vicky must try and save the day and their own lives. With Vicky there are history and art lessons but the location on a Swedish Island made the book a little less compelling as were the villainous characters. You know too early who the bad guys are it is just a matter of how to outwit and outlast them. "

" Surprised to say I like Elizabeth Peters' variant style in her Vicky Bliss novels as opposed to her Amelia Peabody ones. Fun, easy read. "

" Still really liking this series. I love that we get to visit different places in each book. I also love that Vicky isn't so smart and superior that she never gets herself into tight situations, and yet she never acts in a way that makes me wonder how she could be so stupid. Pure enjoyment! "

" I think I say this after every Vicky Bliss novel, but I really wish she was Amelia Peabody! These books are just ok, never amazing like the Amelias..I just find myself not caring that much about the characters. But, they read quickly and keep you mildly entertained. It also took me an entire day after finishing it to actually understand the title, and I still don't get why there's a cat on the cover. *shrugs* "

" Nice light reading. Love her writing style. Her books just seem timeless. They could be set in any era. This is the 3rd Vicky Bliss, and there are 3 more to go. I hope Vicky and John resolve their issues by the end. "

" A reread of an old Peters' mystery. Lots of action, humor and twists and turns and a bit of romance. Involving art history, situated in Sweden. "
