"Thea Harrison is really on a roll. Her ability to create heros and heroines who are, believably, thousands of years old and magical is impressive. I have some quibbles with the book--I wish she would tell us less and show us more how witty Rune is. I am not clear on what, exactly, was making Carling sick or how they figured it out. But I couldn't put the book down, and I know I will reread it."

[Eastlake] is able to affect male and female characters without issue, and she always holds my attention.
— Bambi Unbridled" No real deviation from the first two books in the series. Same basic story line. I did have issues with the whole make-over thing, though. Especially when Rune started putting make up on Carling. "
— Nikki, 2/4/2014" Rune is one of my favorite characters in this series. I enjoyed this book and liked the romance. Carling is a bit strange but I think that is intended since she is a several thousand year old vampyre. "
— jillz, 11/10/2013" Not as good as the first but better than the second. "
— Emma, 10/22/2013" Another good addition to the series. I did miss the other characters that we saw in Books 1 & 2 because there was very little interaction but I still enjoyed the book. I read the chapter from the next one and can't wait for that one to come out. "
— Melissa, 10/18/2013" i liked this book not as much as the first 2 in the series for some reason it did not grab me as much as the others "
— Elaine, 10/11/2013" This novel was a little disappointing. I didn't feel the chemistry between the hero and the heroine. I do not know if I will keep reading this series. I like Dragon Bound, but the books that followed weren't at the level of to the first book. "
— Dark, 9/25/2013" I am loving this series! "
— Donna, 5/16/2013" I liked this book, but was dissatisfied with the ending and am beginning to realise that none of the later books will ever be as awesome as Dragon Bound was. Doesn't mean they suck, but they're good instead of great. "
— Decadence, 1/12/2013" I loved this character Rune when we meet him in first few books. But I just couldn't get into this one. IDK why. About half way thru I skimmed the rest to get the story line and haven't gone back. Maybe I'll try again some time. "
— Heather, 4/6/2012" Great series, awesome addition! I can't wait for the next one! "
— Feistygodwin, 4/5/2012Thea Harrison, a debut author at the age of nineteen, had sixteen romances published under another name before she took a break to collect a couple of graduate degrees and a grown child. She’s back with the novels of the Elder Races, a new paranormal romance series.
Sophie Eastlake happily extends her love of books to her passion for narrating. Among her readings are the Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill and the Elder Races series by Thea Harrison. She lives in New York.
