A new school year and new friends for everyone's favorite classroom pet! Humphrey is excited to get back to Room 26 and see all his old classmates. But on the first day of school, a bunch of strange kids arrive and no matter how loudly he squeaks up, they don't realize they're in the wrong room! Finally Humphrey realizes that these kids are his new classmates, and he sets off to learn all about them. He hasn't forgotten about his friends from last year, and of course they miss him a ton. But when they start talking about taking him from Mrs. Brisbane's room, Humphrey gets unsqueakably nervous. How could he say good-bye to Mrs. Brisbane and Og--not to mention his new friends--for good?

"Sixth installment in the Humphrey series. Humphrey is a golden hamster and the perfect classroom pet. Of course, his job is to help the students, and he does his job well. This particular book finds him welcoming a new class to Room 26."

" Love the Humphrey series for 7 year old girls (my 10 year old listens too). I liked this one in particular because it addresses the issue of changing classrooms, teachers and class mates at the beginning of the school year. "
— Jane, 8/10/2012" Good chapter book for kids. "
— Christina, 8/10/2011" Also, as a sequel to the humphery series, a fun and easy-to-read book! "
— Lauren, 5/20/2011" We will definitely be reading all of the Humphrey books in the series. My kids loved listening to Humphrey and would beg for me to read one more chapter each night. Kidnergarten on up is a great age to read this one out loud to. "
— Debcrittenden, 5/18/2011" My favorite part was when Humphrey the hampster helped Mrs. Brisbane cheer up and not be so grumpy. "
— Laura, 5/16/2011" I Have read this book so many times and I Love it!! "
— Stephanie, 5/13/2011" Aww, this is for the little kiddies. They will read it and love it. I`m not the target audience so i really cannot complain if it did not tickle my pickle. "
— Mailis, 5/4/2011" This is a read-aloud just about every year for my class. I love the way Humphrey can solve so many issues...he needs to be a school counselor! This is one way to have a classroom pet. "
— Pbaker, 4/24/2011" Great book. Told from a class pet hamster's view. Humphrey helps many families problems. "
— Rhiannon, 4/8/2011" Your basic story of a creature who meets a new family every chapter and solves their problems. Too twee by half. Second graders who like animal stories might like it. Maybe third. "
— Lyddie, 4/3/2011" It was so interesting and fun to read! "
— Genie, 3/6/2011" Humphrey's story is not only cute, it's heartwarming, especially when it touches on the real-life school, work & family problems. "
— Esther, 2/19/2011" Read this one because it is a Bluestem nominee for my state this year. Cute story about Humphrey the hamster and his view on his classroom. Humphrey is quite the people watcher and enjoys trying to help others improve their lives. "
— katsok, 2/5/2011" I read this aloud to my class. They loved it and I loved it! It's the story of a classroom hamster, Humphrey, and his adventures in room 26. It's clever and funny and endearing. Read it! "
