"I received this book as a gift. Not my usual read. Really liked the book! A detective goes undercover as a construction worker to find a sister of a man who is wanted and she seems the best way to find him. He slowly but surely wormed his way into the gals life, and does indeed get to her brother. The book has a LOT of heat in the sex scenes. The construction worker/detective is not prepared to fall in love with the gal, and he didn't expect to find out after gaining accessto the brother that what he believes to be true, the true witness is not the brother, but the sister... She is the one they wanted all the while and after revealing that fact he has to work to save her life."

Quotes

  • “No one and nothing are what they seem in this novel, and the author keeps us guessing by throwing one curve ball after the other…Along with passion, Foster delivers humor and intrigue aplenty.”

    — USA Today
  • “Foster turns up the sizzle in her series launch with another cops-on-the-edge story sure to please fans. This is trademark Foster, with sexy cops undercover, beautiful dames in disguise and nasty bad guys trying to abduct girls. Her heroes always have an underlying decency and respect for women, no matter how much they get around, giving a sweet leavening to stories from the tougher side of life.”

    — RT Book Reviews (4 stars)
  • “Thanks to Foster’s skillful storytelling, the chemistry between Pepper and Logan adds to the suspense…Distinctive and passionate, this is not to be missed.”

    — Publishers Weekly
  • “Perennial red-hot romantic-suspense favorite Foster hits the mark with this complicated page turner that, in less deft hands, could have been easily mishandled, but generally reads like a sexy, believable roller coaster of action and romance.”

" I'm a little disappointed in this one... I love Lori Foster and I was completely in love with her "men who walk the edge of honour" series. I may have had too high of expectations for this book?? I just couldn't get into it right away... It took me until about 40% in to actually be into the story. Maybe it's just the beginning is a little slow for a romance suspense... Any how the second half is strong and I really enjoyed the book from that point on. I'm actually really excited for Reecy's book, I assume Alice is in it, and to me the chemistry with them is already there in this book and I'm very intrigued by the small amount of their story already shared!! " Come on people, admit it! You know you loved the book. Authors like Lori don't have it easy. The better they are the more we expect, and it gets to the point where we are not judging their work fairly. Run the Risk was really good. I knew it would be hard for anything that followed Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, especially the Perfect Storm (swear to God I've read it at least 20 times). And I was right, but that doesn't change the fact that the book was really good. I really enjoyed it and it made me extremely curious about the next books, specifically Rowdys. Another hit!!! "

" I was a little put off by the hero, Logan Risk. I thought he was arrogant, a user, he needed a good kick in the brain. The heroine was TSTL. disappointing all the way around. "
