About the Narrators

Blair Underwood is an author and award-winning actor, director, and producer. He lives in Los Angeles, California.

Malcolm McDowell has been a part of the acting world for more than four decades and has more than one hundred films under his belt. Best known for playing villains, he has become one of America’s greatest actors, though he hails from England.

Brian Cox is an Emmy Award–winning actor known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His first big film break was as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter. His other film credits include The CorruptorThe Ring, and X2. He was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2003 Queen’s New Year’s Honors List for his accomplishments in theater, film, and television.

Richard Matheson (1926–2013) was born in New Jersey and started living and working in California in 1951. In addition to novels in the mystery, science fiction, horror, fantasy, and western fields, he wrote many film and television scripts, including “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” from The Twilight Zone. He also wrote episodes of Have Gun, Will Travel, Night Gallery, and Star Trek. Several of his novels and stories have been made into movies, including The Shrinking Man, I Am Legend, and What Dreams May Come (starring Robin Williams). Over the course of his career he won the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bram Stoker Award for Life Achievement, the Hugo Award, the Edgar Allan Poe Award, the Golden Spur Award, and the Writer’s Guild Award.

Neil Hellegers grew up in New Jersey and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a BA in theater arts and a minor in psychology before getting an MFA in acting from the Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to New York City in 2003 and, since then, has made a career of theatrical performance, percussion, theater education, and audiobook narration. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and son.

Kristen Bell is an American television and film actress. She is best known for her role as the title character on the television series Veronica Mars, which earned her national fame and critical praise. She is the recipient of a Satellite Award and Saturn Award, and has been nominated several times for the Television Critics Association Awards and Teen Choice Awards.

Stacy Keach is perhaps best known for his portrayal of hard-boiled detective Mike Hammer. He played Ken Titus on the sitcom Titus, Warden Henry Pope in the hit series Prison Break, and has been seen in numerous film and stage productions. He won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Ernest Hemingway and starred as Richard Nixon in the US National Tour of Frost/Nixon. His performance in the title role of King Lear has received international acclaim.

Gabra Zackman is an actress, author, and narrator who has won several AudioFile Earphones Awards. She was educated at Northwestern University. A classically trained actress, she has appeared in theaters all over the country as well as on film and television.
