In 1983, USS Roanoke, a Los Angeles–class submarine, violates international borders in search of the Soviet Union’s latest fast-attack submarine. Four days after the underway, someone starts breaking lights in unoccupied areas of the boat. One week into the operation, a sailor goes insane. Three weeks into the mission, a crewman is found dead in the galley freezer, two more are killed by a mysterious virus and the sonar crew locates a Victor-class submarine tailing the boat. When the captain attempts to contact COMSUBRON for new orders, he discovers his radio has been sabotaged.

That’s when crewmen spot previously dead sailors walking the halls.

Combining Tom Clancy’s eye for international intrigue with Stephen King’s sense of the macabre, 100 Fathoms Below takes readers into depths from which there is no escape.
