A boy learns of his dragon past; a girl has known of hers for years. They combine their faith, courage, and love to overcome an evil slayer who seeks to bring an end to dragon heritage, forever. The kids at school call Billy "Dragon Breath" for good reason. His breath is bad! It isn't the normal, morning-mouth bad; it's the hot-as-fire, "don't-you-dare-get-near-me" bad. And hearing "Dragon Breath" ringing in his ears, he constantly tries to cool his oral volcano. Trouble erupts when his hot breath sets off the fire sprinklers in the boys' restroom at school, and his parents learn that they've kept their secret for too long. Billy finally discovers the secret. His father was once a dragon! Now that's a piece of news a guy doesn't deal with every day! Billy feels betrayed, alien, lost. When his father reverts to his dragon form, and they're both chased by dragon slayers, he learns to trust his father again, battling the slayers with weapons of steel and spirit. Bonnie, an orphan, tries to find a home, someone to love her, even though she feels like a freak because of a body feature that she calls a deformity, her dragon wings, inherited from her now dead dragon mother. She discovers that her love for others and her faith in a Creator hold the answers she is looking for. Raising Dragons is a contemporary fantasy novel that inspires young people to dig deep within to find their God-given strengths and use them to overcome any obstacle.

"I actually really liked this book on some levels. It was written by a Christian author, and I have my own issues with most authors of this Genre. But despite the slightly less than par writing in some points, the story is quite novel and it was a pretty quick read. I am actually looking forward to reading the second book."

“In Raising Dragons, Bryan Davis has infused fantasy into every teenager’s normal high school experience. The result is riveting. The adventure mixes believable characters with heart-thumping suspense. Realistic heroes defeating delightfully evil rogues. Good versus evil it doesn’t get any better than this. Readers will be furiously reading late into the night.”
— Donita K. Paul, award-winning author of Dragonspell" Great for people looking for Christian books. Good adventure, a little King Arthur and Merlin based in modern times. "
— Jeanne, 2/19/2014" I think that it was very well written as a christian/fantasy book with dragons. I enjoy such books but very few revolve around Christianity and so when I found out about these books I snatched them up and couldn't put them down. All in all, a great work! "
— M.G., 2/4/2014" the series started out great, then got worse and worse. "
— Daniel, 1/27/2014" It could be a little slow at times but it was still really good. "
— Catrina, 1/11/2014" Billy finds out about dragons and King Arthur "
— Debbie, 1/10/2014" this book was a great book it had some parts that left you wandering what would happen next. Its manly about how a boy finds out that he is half dragon. Aswel so is one of the new exchange stundents that just came to his school. I highly recomend thiis book. "
— Cole, 1/7/2014" I absolutely love this book and the series that go with it! Bonnie, Billy, and Walter are all really good heroes. "
— Kathleen, 1/1/2014" As long as you are willing to suspend reality a little bit, the entire series is good. I was able to read through the first book in a few days. "
— Ellen, 12/31/2013" Loved it! Read it twice at least. Read the entire series. "
— Kimberly, 12/16/2013" I read this entire series to my son and mother. We would have tea at night and sit in the living room and I would read to both of them. Sometimes they would snuggle in the guest room beds and I'd read them to sleep - really both my Mom and my Son. It was great. We loved the entire series. "
— Sandra, 12/8/2013" i was amazed at how the Christianity was woven in so subtly as to not ruin the plot, yet it finds you throughout the book. Bryan Davis certainly knows how to write a book. "
— Ryan, 12/7/2013" Excellent read. Completely un-put-down-able. Can't wait to get stuck into the second one. "
— Elaine, 10/25/2013" This book was defiantly a great read and i am still waiting for the 2nd book so i know what is to come of them . "
— Amber, 10/24/2013" it was good and i want to read the other ones in the series "
— Joseph, 6/11/2013" Maybe one and a half stars. I just didn't care for it. The characters were very bland and most of the dialogue and thoughts of the characters were just not believable. I skimmed most of the book and made myself finish it, but I just didn't like the writing. "
— Shelley, 3/3/2012" Unfortunately, this book is way too childish for me. Disappointed! "
— Dominic, 12/21/2011" Ttly fab book as i do say myself! "
