"Great children's book (chosen from the Barnes and Noble summer reading books). Ella actually read some of the chapters on her own. We will definitely be reading more of the puppy place series. The only thing I don't like is that it promotes requests for a dog (and we have family allergies... it's definitely not the right time or place for a family dog)."

“Goldie is irresistible and lovable, and the reader will find himself rooting for the Peterson children and their schemes to keep Goldie in their home…An endearing story of responsibility, loyalty and friendship especially tailored for young reader.”
— Children’s Literature" Wanting a dog can be a to of responsibility. After having the students read this, we would reflect on the responsibilities of having a dog, and how to take care of one. We could discuss with any children who have animals what they have to do everyday to take care of their family pet. "
