About Lauren Tarshis

Lauren Tarshis was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is the author of Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree, Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell in Love, and the I Survived series. She is also an editorial director for language arts at Scholastic, the editor of Storyworks magazine, and oversees Scope magazine. Her title, I Survived the Destruction of Pompeii 79 AD made the New York Times bestseller list in 2014.

About Nic Dressel

Nic Dressel was born in Muskegon, Michigan and has acquired his BFA in theatre from Michigan State University. He is an improviser and stand-up comedian who recently won the Funniest Mouth of the South contest in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He loves to read and got his start by reading stories to his little brother, Robby, at bedtime.
