Publisher Description

“My gown suited me as well as I could ever hope, though I could not but envy the young ladies who would attract the honest compliments of the night. My bodice did not plunge as dramatically as some, and no man — no man I would ever want to meet, surely — could fit his hands round my waist. What I lacked in beauty I would simply have to earn with charm...” With her parents lost to assassins, Princess Ben ends up under the thumb of the conniving Queen Sophia. Starved and miserable, locked in the castle’s highest tower, Ben stumbles upon a mysterious enchanted room. So begins her secret education in the magical arts: mastering an obstinate flying broomstick, furtively emptying the castle pantries, setting her hair on fire... But Ben’s private adventures are soon overwhelmed by a mortal threat to her kingdom. Can Ben save the country and herself from foul tyranny?

"I really enjoyed this book. I think I learned the importance of not being so quick to judge others until you know a little bit more about them. This was the case throghout the book. Ben was quick to judge the prince from the country's biggest foes. Also, miscommunication often brings about more problems than are needed."

" I didn't like this book. It seemed to be written for a teen but with a few hard words thrown in to make it confusing. The prince and she only meet 2 times and all you hear of each other are complaints and then suddenly on the third meeting their in love and going to get married. It was a quick easy read but definately for a younger teen. "

" This was rather an amazing story. The only thing I didn't like was how she managed to sneek in aspects from other fairy tales. It was unoriginal. I wish there was more romance at the end, but that's okay. The book as a whole was great. Go ahead and read for some adventure. "
