Wilbur Smith (1933-2021) wrote When the Lion Feeds in 1964 and became a full-time writer. He completed fifty novels, all meticulously researched on his numerous expeditions worldwide. His books have been translated into twenty-six different languages. He was born in Central Africa and was educated at Michaelhouse and Rhodes University.
