TIM CURRY READS THE CLASSIC TALE!
"ALL CHILDREN, EXCEPT ONE, GROW UP."
And so begins the story of one of the most beloved characters in children's literature, Peter Pan. J.M. Barrie's classic tale, completely unabridged, features a boy who refuses to grow up, Tinker Bell the fairy, and the Darling children -- Wendy, John, and Michael. Their great adventure begins on the night that Peter flies into the Darling home looking for his shadow and teaches Wendy, John, and Michael how to fly with him back to the Neverland, where adventures happen every day.

"Ah the ending made me really sad! Otherwise, this book reminds me of Alice In Wonderland because it just goes to ridiculous conclusions, and lots of parts in it made me laugh! Lol at Mr Darling living in a kennel as penance, the fairy orgy's, and Peter amnesia."

“A great classic of children’s literature that we all remember as magical. What we tend to forget, because the tale of Peter Pan and Neverland has been so relentlessly boiled down, hashed up, and coated in saccharine, is that J.M. Barrie’s original version is also witty, sophisticated, and delightfully odd.”
— Amazon.com, editorial review“For many of us, Peter Pan is one of those stories we know from popular culture but have never actually read. Now is the time to learn what a wonderful (and often adult) story it is. Tim Curry provides the perfect introduction with his rich voice, British accent, and tongue lodged firmly in cheek.”
— Audiofile" Interesting audio read, much darker than the Disney tale, but also more moralistic. Interesting to consider given Barrie's own personal background. "

— Meg, 1/14/2014" Tinkerbell is so much cooler in the book. "You silly ass!" "
— Sophia, 12/13/2013" Such a wonderful classic. It was hard not to compare it to the Disney classic that I am so used to, but I loved it just as much or more. "
— Lacey, 12/8/2013" Beautifully written. So much imagery hidden between the visual lines of written word. "
— Melissa, 11/19/2013" I was expecting this book to be about a pan (kitchen implement) called Peter. Pleasantly surprised. "

— Lulusita816, 6/7/2013" I listened to this book on CDs read aloud by Jim Dale (he reads the Harry Potter books too) and found it really enjoyable! "
— Crystal, 4/6/2013James Matthew Barrie (1860–1937) was born in Scotland, the son of a weaver and the ninth of ten children. His mother saw to it that he was educated, despite the family’s low income. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and spent two years on the Nottingham Journal before settling in London as a freelance writer in 1885. His short stories, essays, and novels were well received, and he began to gain a fine reputation as a playwright. His most enduring work is Peter Pan, which is based on stories he made up for children in his neighborhood.
