TIM CURRY READS THE CLASSIC TALE!
"ALL CHILDREN, EXCEPT ONE, GROW UP."
And so begins the story of one of the most beloved characters in children's literature, Peter Pan. J.M. Barrie's classic tale, completely unabridged, features a boy who refuses to grow up, Tinker Bell the fairy, and the Darling children -- Wendy, John, and Michael. Their great adventure begins on the night that Peter flies into the Darling home looking for his shadow and teaches Wendy, John, and Michael how to fly with him back to the Neverland, where adventures happen every day.

"Ah the ending made me really sad! Otherwise, this book reminds me of Alice In Wonderland because it just goes to ridiculous conclusions, and lots of parts in it made me laugh! Lol at Mr Darling living in a kennel as penance, the fairy orgy's, and Peter amnesia."

“A great classic of children’s literature that we all remember as magical. What we tend to forget, because the tale of Peter Pan and Neverland has been so relentlessly boiled down, hashed up, and coated in saccharine, is that J.M. Barrie’s original version is also witty, sophisticated, and delightfully odd.”
— Amazon.com, editorial review“For many of us, Peter Pan is one of those stories we know from popular culture but have never actually read. Now is the time to learn what a wonderful (and often adult) story it is. Tim Curry provides the perfect introduction with his rich voice, British accent, and tongue lodged firmly in cheek.”
— Audiofile" Interesting audio read, much darker than the Disney tale, but also more moralistic. Interesting to consider given Barrie's own personal background. "

— Brad, 10/27/2012" Peter Pan isn't as charming as i once thought he was, but this book is wonderful! I love how Barrie writes it, with so much love and happiness, he is as excited to tell the story as the reader is to read it, and it's truly wonderful, really. "

— Jo, 12/21/2011" Amazing book which is wrote brilliantly! I am a 'Disney freak' so I thought I'd try out the book version of Peter Pan. I enjoyed the book a lot, more than the film. Words can't describe how good it was! I recommend. "
— Abby, 9/8/2011" Barrie's book is great for kids with large imaginations but also a fun family book since there are parents and siblings heavily involved. It teaches children to stick together which I loved. "
— Prw41894, 7/29/2011" amazing, childhood favorite of mine "
— Saiybree, 7/20/2011" Like others on here, I did not care for this. LIke the light heartedness of what I thought Peter Pan was all about, The Disney idea is much better than the inspiration it was drawn from. Think the book skipped around and never answered a lot of the story line. "
— Valerie, 5/24/2011" "Do you believe in fairies?"

I will always believe. "
— Marcella, 5/24/2011" Very interesting way of writing, but very enjoyable. "

— Anastasia, 5/22/2011" I highly recommend taking a look again at this much loved classic. It is a beautiful narration that Disney did an injustice. "

— Andrew, 5/20/2011" One of my absolute all-time favorites. "
— Ber, 5/19/2011" I think Peter Pan holds the title for being my first crush i had on an imaginary character...its the main problem with girls isn't it, to love someone who is aloof and unreachable, but makes life unpredictable and fun... "
— Mailis, 5/19/2011" So this was good book. A little on the strange side at times but I was actually pretty surprised how close some adaptations have been. I think it address some interesting ideas about growing up and losing the innocence of youth. I think its worth reading. "
— Ben, 5/12/2011" I absolutely loved this. I've seen several different adaptations of this story in plays and movies, but reading the book is still so good. It was a quick read and lots of fun. No wonder it's a classic!s "

— Pete, 5/7/2011James Matthew Barrie (1860–1937) was born in Scotland, the son of a weaver and the ninth of ten children. His mother saw to it that he was educated, despite the family’s low income. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and spent two years on the Nottingham Journal before settling in London as a freelance writer in 1885. His short stories, essays, and novels were well received, and he began to gain a fine reputation as a playwright. His most enduring work is Peter Pan, which is based on stories he made up for children in his neighborhood.
Tim Curry has created a rich array of memorable characters for both the screen and stage, most notably the role of the scientist in the Broadway and film versions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He’s been nominated for Tony Awards for his roles in My Favorite Year and The Pirates of Penzance. His film credits include Muppet Treasure Island, The Shadow, Clue, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Three Musketeers, and many, many more.
