" Of the first 3 Oz books, this one seemed the most kid-oriented. The story logic was very lax and the characterization wasn't very deep. Still it was a fun little adventure with an unlikely heroine in the form of Billina, the talking chicken. As always I loved gazing upon John R. Neill's illustrations! I'm impressed too that Tiktok is the first robot in literature. Chances are I'll try the next Oz book, but I'm hoping it'll be a bit better than this one. "

" Book 2 of the OZ series almost lost me. I am glad I kept going, Ozma of Oz was very cute. I wonder why they have never made this one into a movie. The summer is almost over and I am falling short on my goal to make it through all 14 of the Oz books summers end. If you are a Wizard of Oz fan these books are fun to read. "

" I was so into this book, that I reread it several times and 'tis a book that I could read while walking. "

" Maren loved "the wizard of oz" so much that she was thrilled when I told her there were 13 more stories about oz. I don't think we'll read all of them, but after reading the reviews decided we'd at least give this one a try. So far, it is very strange, but Maren is liking it, and we'll see how it ends up. "
