Multiple award-winning author Sophia James pens scorching-hot romances her eager fans devour. In One Unashamed Night, reclusive Lord Taris Wellingham shuns the possibility of intimate relationships. His traveling companion, 28-year-old Beatrice-Maude Bassingstoke, on the other hand, doesn't expect to attract a man as handsome as Taris. But when they are forced to spend the night together during a snowstorm, passion erupts between them as they lay in each other's arms. And when the night ends, a new day of love dawns before them.

"Sweet and tender love story between a previously abused widow and a blind hero. It's interesting to see how they each cope with their own insecurities yet ultimately come to depend on each other. There's hardly any graphic sex but still is a feel-good, romantic story. 3.8 stars."

" Really a 3.5 for me and a fast read. The hero is very likable and I loved the heroine. "
— Shel, 10/30/2013" The hero is going blind, which makes for an interesting book. I think the author has a tendency toward melodrama, but it still enjoyed it. "
— Louise, 10/24/2013" I read this series out of order, starting with this one. I loved Taris and Beatrice; therefore, I read High Seas to High Society and One Illicit Night. Those are books one and three of the grouping. "

— Crystal, 12/3/2012" One Unashamed Night is my first book by Sophia James and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was great. The plot, although just a tad historically inaccurate, was creative and I nearly finished it in one sitting. Reading Asher's story now... "
— Stacia, 12/30/2011" I liked the story from the stand point that the characters were not perfect and had a few warts but managed to overcome them to fall in love "

— Louise, 9/15/2010Sophia James read Georgette Heyer novels as a teenager lying in the sun on her grandmother’s porch overlooking a wild west coast beach. Her writing life, however, started in Bilbao, Spain. After having three wisdom teeth extracted, she was given a pile of Mills and Boons—and filled with strong painkillers, she imagined that she could pen one too. Many drafts later she thinks she has the perfect job writing for Harlequin Historical as well as taking art tours to Europe with her husband, who is a painter. A large extended family and a house full of renovations that are never done complete the equation.
