Sophia James pens historical romances that crackle with passion and intrigue. The third Wellingham brothers novel, One Illicit Night tells the tale of Lord Cristo Wellingham, whose world is forever altered after a salacious evening with the normally chaste Lady Eleanor Bracewell-Lowen. Cristo longs for a return engagement, even as Eleanor swears off such reckless behavior to preserve her image in London's high society. Yet she's all too aware that a powerful man such as Cristo could ruin her reputation if she doesn't yield to his desires.

Sophia James read Georgette Heyer novels as a teenager lying in the sun on her grandmother’s porch overlooking a wild west coast beach. Her writing life, however, started in Bilbao, Spain. After having three wisdom teeth extracted, she was given a pile of Mills and Boons—and filled with strong painkillers, she imagined that she could pen one too. Many drafts later she thinks she has the perfect job writing for Harlequin Historical as well as taking art tours to Europe with her husband, who is a painter. A large extended family and a house full of renovations that are never done complete the equation.
Charlotte Strevens has worked as a voice and television actress. Among her dozens of audiobook narrations are The Gamekeeper’s Lady by Ann Lethbridge, Tideline by Penny Hancock, and One Illicit Night by Sophia James.
