" a social history account of the founding of Israel. Authors tell stories of individuals during 1949 as Israel trys to get all of Jerusalem. It was interesting that the Arabs are also a part of the story and the good and the bad are included "

" A minutely detailed, meticulously documented of the momentous creation of the Jewish state. Of the freedom struggle, the trials and tribulations which preceded the actual announcement of the creation of Israel. The bravery of the 1000s of jews who bravely laid down their lives for the most noble cause in their eyes. It is simply 'unputdownable'. "
