    " It's fitting that I read/reread Carlin's three books recently. The first is the best, though that may be largely because there is some repitition between the three volumes, which is a little annoying. Still, Carlin's best to see/hear rather than read. The delivery just enhances it. "

    " Unfortunately I think George found it more difficult to mine old routines or come up with pithy sayings for his books, so after "Brain Droppings" I think the laughs and insights give way to grumpiness and cantankerous writing. There are still a few gems here and there, but not a strong effort. "
